“This photo shows the moment we celebrated the end of the Voices of Corangamite 2025 Community Independent Federal election campaign, the relief of gaining more than 4 per cent of the vote, which was more than any of the minor parties, some of them having been backed by millions of advertising dollars.
First preferences: Red 37%, Blue 34%, Green 14%, and fourth: Community-Independent-orange: 4.4%.
My speech was started with: “On behalf of everyone in the room I would like to thank everyone in the room.”

The community independent campaign for Corangamite is off and running!
Volunteers come together and organise free events like the Portarlington Park Run for the good of the community. Their contribution creates opportunities for others and contributes to community wellbeing that is grown through connections and kindness.
We have so many community-led events in Corangamite, and I feel so grateful to be able to participate and contribute alongside so many valuable volunteers.
I see that in running for the seat of Corangamite, I can bring my experience in driving and supporting genuine, community-led projects in schools, sporting clubs and Landcare across the Bellarine, Surf Coast and Geelong to the fore.
Being part of a community isn’t just a postcode. It is about contributing, participating, and as a candidate it is about listening to, and advocating for the needs of our community.
Unlike the big parties, with billionaires in their ears, my agenda is you – the community.
Every day in April, I will be across the region, listening to YOU, and deepening my understanding about what YOU want for your community.
